IELTS Bandly — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 August 2026 · IELTS TOEFL Practice — Bandly
In short: no account, no server. The questions you answer and your progress stay on your device. The app shows ads, and the ad system uses your device's advertising identifier — that is the only data that counts as tracking across companies.
What data is collected
| Data | Status | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Advertising identifier (IDFA / AAID) | Yes — for tracking | Used by Google AdMob to serve and measure ads. This data may be used to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. |
| Advertising interaction data | Yes — for tracking | Which ad was shown and whether it was interacted with. Collected by AdMob. |
| App interaction data | Yes — for tracking | Signals such as app launches and interaction with ad surfaces. Collected by AdMob. |
| Purchase record | Yes — no tracking | Used to unlock the ad-free version. Processed through the App Store / Google Play and RevenueCat; not used for tracking. |
| Name, email, phone number | Not collected | Not collected. The app has no accounts. |
| Location | Not collected | Not collected. The app never requests location permission. |
| Contacts, photos, microphone | Not collected | Not collected. The app never requests these permissions. |
| Your answers and progress | Not collected | Stay on your device. There is no server collecting them. |
Advertising
The app shows banner, interstitial and rewarded ads through Google AdMob. Rewarded ads are entirely optional; declining one never disables a feature.
AdMob uses your device's advertising identifier and your interaction with ads to select and measure them. On iOS the app shows Apple's tracking permission prompt on first launch; choosing “Ask App Not to Track” means the advertising identifier is not used for personalised advertising. In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom a separate consent screen is shown, and you can change your choice there at any time.
How Google handles this data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Purchases
The ad-free version is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription, no recurring charge, and therefore nothing to cancel. Payment is handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play; your card details never reach us.
Purchase validity is verified through RevenueCat and cached on the device, so a paying user stays ad-free offline. A “Restore purchases” button is in the settings screen.
What never leaves your device
- The questions you answer and the answers you give
- Your correct/incorrect history, mistake notebook and review schedule
- Your mock exam results and score estimates
- Your study plan and statistics
These live in a local database on your device. They are not sent to a server, because there is no server to send them to. You can export a backup yourself from settings; where that file goes is your choice.
Analytics
There is no third-party analytics SDK in this app. Nothing measures which screen you use or for how long.
Children
This app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes all your progress from the device. You can reset your advertising identifier under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on iOS, or Settings → Google → Ads on Android.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above is updated. Material changes are noted in the app's release notes.
